Newsletter February1st 2006
Amy & I hope you enjoy receiving notice of upcoming events, updates, and pictures from Abaco-we wish you were here!
Well, it’s February already…..hard to tell seasons around here as it’s warm & sunny most all of the time, but I think it’s mid winter! All of our current guests were out enjoying the day and, since all of our chores were done, we took off for the day, too. Amy, Wellington, and I got in the boat and headed out to Little Harbour. Leaving Sea Level and Lubbers' Landing behind, we head south past the castle and follow Tilloo Cay on our way down to Pete's Pub.
Tilloo Cay goes for about three miles, we pass the famous Tilloo Bank, then we stop to take a picture of Pelican Cay off the bow. A wonderful beach…..it's rare, but there were people there.
We make it into Little Harbour and as we're tying the boat up notice that we have been beaten here, as there are already two Sea Level boats at the dock.
Pete’s Pub has a few things that we really like, as do most other people, as well. Their Tuna Burgers (thick slabs of fresh Yellow Fin tuna, seared to perfection .. with a little wasabi) and BLASTERS, the house rum drink. Wellington & I are ready to go, but Amy’s got to get back into the boat-fashion is a big thing in Little Harbour & she wants to make sure she wearing the right shoes (haha very funny)…..
So we’re off and ready. It looks like the local biker gang may be there as well(see waverunners)-you just never know who you are going to run into down here!
We make our way past the gallery, meet everyone at the bar, order lunch, and play the ring game. The ring game, for anyone out there who doesn't know, is a ring tied to a string . You aim and swing the ring at a pole, hoping to catch the ring on a hook. It passes the time……
The Pub Menu on a board: coconut conch, ginger grilled tuna burger, cheeseburger (in paradise), etc. Also, dancing with a dog and listening to Wellington's jokes…..
A good day had by all……….
Well, that's all for now......we hope to see you soon!
